- Independent Investigation Method

Research at Clay Springs is a fun way
to learn new things. All grade levels, K-5, participate in research
projects throughout the year. The classroom teacher and the media
specialist plan projects together that enhance the curriculum and
are adapted to all students learning abilities. Books, magazines,
newspapers, websites, videos, maps, etc. are used for collecting data.
Students use a process called Independent Investigation Method to
set topic goals, collect, record, and organize notefacts, create products,
and present their learning.
Students use KidPix, HyperStudio, and PowerPoint computer
programs to create multimedia presentations about their research. Computers
in the media center, as well as those in the computer lab, are used
for research projects.
